In order to implement the ten-year decision-making and deployment of the central, provincial, municipal and county-level Yangtze River fishing ban, enhance the effectiveness of the special rectification action against illegal fishing, and cut off illegal fishing activities from the source, recently, the agricultural and rural Bureau of Hanyuan County, the County Public Security Bureau and the county Market Supervision Bureau jointly formed a rectification group to combat illegal manufacturing and sales of prohibited fishing gear, and launched a special campaign against fishing gear shops in Fulin town and Fuquan town Rectification action.

In this rectification operation, 10 fishing gear shops were inspected and more than 100 pieces (pairs) of illegally prohibited fishing gear such as casting nets, gill nets, sticky nets and underground cages were seized.

Through the joint rectification action, it effectively cracked down on the production and sale of prohibited fishing gear, and also shocked illegal fishing activities. In the next step, the county agricultural and rural Bureau will work with relevant departments to strengthen the investigation and punishment of illegal fishing activities, so as to contribute to the 10-year ban on fishing in the Yangtze River Basin.

Interpretation of relevant policies

Article 38 (2) of the Fisheries Law of the people's Republic of China: those who manufacture or sell prohibited fishing gear shall have their fishing gear illegally manufactured or sold and their illegal income confiscated, and they shall also be fined not more than 10000 yuan.
